Good news!

I got all your mixes back. Which is good cos they're pretty awesome if I do say so. So this weekend they'll all be up. 3-5.

Also, apparently, this is how I listen to music.

Who knew?

I said something about no one rocking it as hard as Edan. Eff that.

Like Pussy Galore, but with videos.

I had a little incident with my iTunes wherein I lost all the playlists I'd made for you. More mixes are coming. I promise. To make up for it I overwhelm you with awesome Youtube videos.

Beach House - Gila

I've known of Beach House for some time, but never sampled the goods. They're from Baltimore and my first impression was "Oh, the Fiery Furnaces." They're like the Fiery Furnaces if they reigned in their experiments, were actually good, and were fronted by Cat Power. That being said, this is an awesome video and a beautiful song.

Bon Iver - Wolves (Act I + II)

This video makes me want to move to North Carolina and live in the wilderness writing sweetly soft acoustic songs for warmth. Also, I love the sound of crackling firewood.

Peter Bjorn & John - Objects Of My Affection

Remember that screensaver from way back when? The one with the balls and the thing falling through the balls lazily and...oh, fuck. You'll know as soon as you see it. This is a great song.

Partyline - Crash

I can't find this fucking band anywhere, but I absolutely love this song. I used to despise this kind of stuff, but I think a combination of a year immersed in girltalk!, Diplo, Justice, and Uffie has softened me to all things dance/pop. Besides that, this amateur video is awesome and I love the kid's off-kilter vocals. YACHT gets signed to DFA and this is honestly better than anything they've ever done. BUT WHO THE FUCK SINGS THIS SONG? PARTYLINE DOES NOT EXIST.

Panther - You Don't Want Yr Nails Done

I was turned onto Panther by a friend of mine from Boston some years ago when it still sounded like this. He has since moved to include a full band (or at the very least another guitarist and a live drummer). His new stuff from his album 14kt gold is pretty good, but this is still and will always be the version of Panther I want/ed to hear.

Chemical Brothers w/ The Flaming Lips - The Golden Path

You'll recognize the office building in the first few shots from a Ginuwine video, Grey's Anatomy, Constantine, and just about any other film made in Los Angeles that requires a hospital. Location scouts are cheap and creatively restricted that way. Anywho, Chris Milk (who made the awesome Gnarls Barkley video for "Whose Gonna Save My Soul?") directed this and I don't know how you can feel shitty after watching this video. This is the one song that never loses any potency; it always makes me smile.

EDAN - Fumbling Over Rhymes (live)

For all the Jewish kids in the back, YOU TOO CAN BE THE DOPEST RAPPER/DJ WITH A JEW FRO IN THE COUNTRY. This is Edan, the Humble Magnificent, beat-juggling with one hand and destroying the alphabet with lyrics of steel. Tacky writing? Yes. But when was the last time you saw a Jew rock it like this?

Britney Spears - Hit Me Baby, One More Time (cover)

Last but not least, I couldn't resist. This is one for the ages.

Emmy the Great.

Emmy the Great is the goddamn goods. I've fallen head over friggin heels. Look for her on pretty much every mix I ever make from now on. I'll put those up when I stop being uber-lazy.
